Landscape Engineer — Al Ain, UAE (Full-Time, Permanent)

Petrascape is looking for a highly competent and proactive Landscape Engineer who understands the full spectrum of the landscape industry — from the drawing board to site execution. We want a professional with a genuine landscaping mentality: someone who combines design aesthetics with practical engineering, prices work accurately, gets submittals approved, and owns the project from first measurement to handover. You will not just be drafting. You will be taking charge of projects, managing client relationships, and making sure that what is designed is practical, executable, and approved.

Landscape Engineer: Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Technical Drafting: Produce detailed hardscape and softscape designs, working drawings, and shop drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Quotations & Costing: Prepare BOQs, material take-offs, and priced quotations that are accurate and commercially sound.
  • Material Submittals: Prepare, submit, and follow through material submittals and specifications until they are approved by the client or consultant.
  • Client Management: Act as the primary technical point of contact — present designs, justify technical decisions, and handle client concerns with authority and professionalism.
  • Project Ownership: Take full responsibility for your assigned projects, coordinating with site teams so timelines are met and quality is maintained.
  • Problem Solving: Resolve technical issues that come up during design and approval. You must understand how the work is actually built on site so your designs are realistic and executable.

Landscape Engineer: Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture or Landscape Engineering. This is a landscape specialist role — general Civil Engineering or Architecture degrees are not a substitute.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in the UAE landscaping market, including the submittal and approval workflow with UAE clients and consultants.
  • AutoCAD: Expert-level proficiency is mandatory. SketchUp, Lumion, or other 3D software is a strong plus.
  • Commercial Skills: Proven ability to prepare material submittals, BOQs, and priced quotations independently.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of hardscape construction, irrigation systems, softscape and plant selection for UAE conditions, and landscape lighting — the engineering behind the aesthetics.
  • Language: Professional fluency in both English and Arabic is mandatory, written and spoken.
  • Residency: Must hold a valid UAE Residency Visa (transferable preferred) or a Golden/Freelance visa.
  • Licensing: Valid UAE Driver's License is essential.
  • Personality: Decisive, organized, and capable of working without constant supervision.

How to Apply for the Landscape Engineer Role

  • Applications are accepted only through this page or through our LinkedIn job post. Please do not call, WhatsApp, text, or visit the office — any attempt to contact us directly about this role will disqualify the application.
  • Apply once. Duplicate applications for the same position are automatically rejected.
  • Visa Status: Due to current administrative delays with new quota approvals, we are only accepting candidates who already hold a valid, transferable UAE Residency Visa, or a Golden/Freelance visa. We cannot process new entry visas at this time.
  • Attach your CV together with a portfolio of your AutoCAD work and previous projects — applications without work samples are given lower priority.
